Somewhere to Vacation? Mountains, Water, Plains, or Desert?
It has been said that there are four types of people: mountain people, water people, prairie people, and desert people. If you ask any Telluride Real Estate Agent, she will tell you mountain is best. To prove her point, she will take you to some breathtaking Telluride Colorado Real Estate. But an argument can be made for each of the four landscapes.
The Rocky Mountains around Telluride have much to offer, no matter what the season. Summer is the green season. With the leaves in the full glory of their verdure and the sky its breathtaking blue, the visitor can breathe deeply and replace the close, dead air of the cubicle with God’s fresh breath. When just breathing loses its charm, other activities call out to fill the time. The mountains are sprinkles with charming, historic villages ready for exploration. In the villages the visitor can find interesting shops and restaurants with intriguing menus. In the mountains you’ll find great opportunities for hiking and exploring the high places and low. Bring a camera to capture the beauty. But there’s always winter. If you’re a snow lover, you’ll find plenty here. In fact, winter is the best time to be in the show of the mountains.
Water people will contradict this argument, saying that their land is superior. Water people argue that they also have green leaves and azure sky, but have the added beauty of the water. Whether the salt water of the ocean or the fresh water of a lake, water launders the cares of the soul. The beach can be crowded with vacationers or empty and lonely. No matter. Buttered up with a thick coating of sun block, the sunbather can bake out the troubles. Then into the water with the inflatable sea monster to play in the waves. Winter in the North is equal to the mountains. Can you ice skate? The lakes will freeze. Do you want to explore the wintery woods? Borrow a snowmobile and take off into the cold, snowy wilderness.
Prairie people appreciate the wide-open spaces of the Midwest. So many metropolises in the Prairie States: Minneapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, among others. These cities are not New York or Los Angeles, but instead they are cities with their own unique character full of friendly Midwesterners. Outside the cities are the open spaces. From the second story of an office building in a small town in Illinois, you’ll think you can see as far as Missouri. And between here and there, wheat in every direction.
But, ah, the beauty of the desert. The dark of the night reveals the black of the sky and the depth of the universe. Where else can you see the glory of the infinite stars and all the galaxies? Where else can you gaze at the stars and experience the spirits of the ancients? During the daylight, the adventurous traveler can explore the artifacts of these ancients and the culture of the living descendants.
Which type of person are you? Mountain? Water? Prairie? Desert? Can’t decide? Visit all of them. Spenda while in each.
