Johnson Winery, Westfield, NY. The Johnson Winery in Chautauqua County, NY is the state’s oldest Estate Winery. Grapes have been cultivated at the Johnson Estate since the late 1800s, and wine has been produced here since 1961. Today a wonderful assortment of delicious (and several award winning) wines are produced at Johnson Winery in the centuries old, Chateau wine making tradition.
As an Estate Winery, every step of the wine making process takes place right on site at the Johnson Estate. All of the grapes used in their wines are carefully cultivated and harvested right here. They are picked at the peak of ripeness, and with minimal transport to the wine-making facilities a few thousand feet away, deterioration is minimized. The results are exceptional wines made from exceptional grapes in the Chateau tradition.
